Our catering staff was hard at work over the weekend, providing meals for New Trier’s Homecoming as well as Chicago Marathon runners.
Friday night, our team continued our 20+ year tradition of feeding the New Trier High School staff and their families the night of their homecoming game. The attendees enjoyed pizza, beef, salad, pasta, hot dogs and desserts. A special shoutout goes to Jermaine Rodriguez, Samantha Fernandes, and John Mynatt who were the Lou’s team members on site working the event.
We then fed over 800 people on Saturday night thanks to the hard work of the amazing crew pictured below. The event was hosted in Millennium Park, with the River North and South Loop stores preparing and making all the food.
The pre-marathon dinner was prepared for World Vision, a non-profit organization that runs to raise money to provide fresh drinking water to children in Africa. We have now had the pleasure of feeding the group for more than 10 years. This annual pasta dinner is a gathering of both the runners and their families.
The River North and South Loop stores didn’t stop at Saturday. On Sunday, the teams delivered nearly 450 small deep dish pizzas to the marathon runners. Once the runners crossed the finish line, they headed back to Millennium Park to reward themselves with a slice (or two) of our pizza.
We’d once again like to give a big thanks to our team members who helped make sure these great traditions of feeding our communities continued. It’s a much-welcomed return to normalcy!
