General Manager, Mark Valletti of our Oak Park location accepted the Disability Access Commission Award!

The Oak Park Disability Access Commission helps create public policies for persons with disabilities so they can fully participate in community events. While Mark thought Lou’s was receiving this award because of our accessible architecture and bathrooms, it was really because of his hard work and dedication to giving back to the community of Oak Park.

When Mark was given the opportunity to work in Oak Park he became involved in Best Buddies and the WSSRA (Western Suburban Special Recreation Association). He started coordinating Pizza By Me events for members of these organization who have disabilities. Mark taught them how to make their own deep dish pizzas and took them behind the scenes for a tour of our kitchen!

At Lou Malnati’s we pride ourselves on our values, one of those values being tradition. The tradition of giving back is something that has been with the company since the very beginning in 1971. Thank you Mark for keeping this tradition alive and for your love of giving back.
