Congratulations to Lakewood and Park Ridge on raising the most money for cancer research through Circle sales and Roundup donations!
A major round of applause for the teams at Lakewood and Park Ridge, who collected more donations through Circle sales and Roundups than any other restaurant and carryout in the company, respectively. Lakewood raised more than $2,000, the most by any store, while Park Ridge finished close behind and took home the title for the carry outs for the second-straight year. This is a sign of a total team effort! Thank you to the management teams at these stores as well as every single team member who encouraged customers to make a donation. You’re all helping a great cause while also earning some bragging rights!
In total, our stores raised just under $20k throughout the month of September, roughly $7,000 more than last year! All of the money raised goes toward cancer research programs at the Lou and Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as well as cancer support groups at Gilda’s Club Chicago and Pickles Group. Thank you to everyone who participated in helping make this such a great year.
As the winning stores, each team member at Park Ridge and Lakewood will receive a commemorative, one-of-a-kind t-shirt from our 52nd annual Lou Malnati’s Cancer Research Benefit (pictured below).
Lakewood is on quite a run, adding the Circle sales title to a community-driven month of September that also included hosting a Blood Drive Kindness Rocks event at their store.
Park Ridge already has their eyes set on a three peat, with Manager Gloria Smith saying this about her team’s efforts:
” I am so proud of our Park Ridge Team for bringing this win home again for the 2nd year and all of us couldn’t be any prouder. Lots of fun and competition that went on, Team members measuring the wall with circles to see how high they can get their donations as they got them, the entire team is a competitive group but also a very caring and thoughtful team. Our customers also felt the love, energy and kindness displayed in such a great cause. Who is ready for year 3 champions? WE ARE!!!!!!”
