This month’s Malnati Rockstar is Jim from our Oak Park (IL) team!
Jim was nominated by his General Manager Colleen Feliciano. He has been a driver at the store since it opened, and this year celebrated his 10-Year anniversary alongside the store. Since arriving at Oak Park, Colleen has taken note of the type of team member Jim is and what he means to his store and our company.
“I have worked here at OP for 1.5 years now and Jim has impressed me every day with his dedication to us as a team, our customers, and our company. Early on, I witnessed Jim doing any and all side work in the heart out the house. He coached and taught new staff, not just drivers, on the proper procedures and helped make them feel seen and welcomed. He has guests that ask for him by name. He’s also a big hit at our Christmas party because he and his mom make about 16 dozen Greek pastries for our team!
One night, I took a call from one of our disabled regulars that reviewed with me all of the requests he had to get his order right. He has to leave his door open for the driver to come in and bring his pizza in the apartment. I made the mistake of entering the pizza uncut and sent the order out. A driver made the delivery, and we got a call shortly after, in the middle of a rush, and our guest told us he did not have the ability to cut his pizza. I looked at Jim and he knew what to do. He quickly got in his car and went to our guest’s residence to cut the pizza for him. No questions asked. This is one of many guests that love Jim. He gets numerous 5-star reviews. He routinely teaches others on best practices. He will get on the line with our pizza cook and flip and box pizzas, he will do dishes and put away stock. He never stops moving and coaching. This year, Jim, while not tech savvy, took complete ownership of learning the new systems backwards and forwards to adapt to all of our new best practices on delivery. He routinely predicts pitfalls in advance, saving us from costly mistakes. He checks dispatch warmers, tablets, and timing of tickets as a manager would. He impressed me this week when we had a large delivery to HINES for a Veteran’s luncheon. He took ownership every step of the process, including prep, planning, verifying, loading, driving, and set up, ensuring a great success. He goes the extra mile every time! We would not be able to do it without him!! Thank you, Jim!!
Jim is clear representation of putting our best foot forward both in our stores as well as with our customers! We thank him for his thorough dedication to his craft and his consistent willingness to go the extra mile in the name of making those around him better.
Congrats to Jim on this recognition!
