Our Hardwood Heights’ phone staff raised money out of their own pockets to help a local family in need.
In May 2021, a six-year-old girl in the local community was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. Sadly, she lost her battle on Feb. 8, 2023. In her honor, the entire phone staff came together and agreed to donate any curbside or lobby tips they received for the rest of the month toward the family’s medical bills. From Feb. 12 – Feb. 28, the team managed to raise over $800 to donate to the girl’s family. The biggest praise goes to Gina DeMarco for organizing the cause, and it’s truly special to see the rest of the staff be so gracious and willing to give up their tips for a greater cause.
We are so proud of these outstanding team members for exhibiting our Tradition of Generosity in one of the most touching ways possible. Random Act of Kindness Day took place right in the middle of the team’s fundraising efforts, and this is perhaps the best example of kindness there is. As a company, Lou Malnati’s has always rallied behind causes we believe in. This spirit is found in all our team members, and this story inspires us all to make a positive impact any time we can.
Thank you, Hardwood Heights phone staff, for showing your neighborhood that Kindness Rocks.
