On January 16th, our Gold Coast Team volunteered at Pacific Garden Mission homeless shelter, serving dinner in three shifts from 4-7pm.
Founded in 1877, Pacific Garden Mission is the oldest rescue mission in the city and the country. It started in a storefront with just a potbellied stove for warmth and kerosene lamps for light, and has grown to the 600-bed facility now located at 1458 South Canal Street that provides up to 1500 meals a day.
