Our Lakewood team held their third “Adopt a Highway” cleanup of 2025!

The Lakewood staff has been committed to cleaning up a highway near their store all year long, beginning with their first event back in April and a follow up in August.

Their final event of the year was held over the weekend. The team made the most of a nice fall morning by cleaning up their adopted highway area from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m., while also enjoying donuts together beforehand.

Manager Nicholas Behrens had this to say about the team’s efforts this year:

“From the start of the year to now, you can see the impact that we have made on this stretch if highway. At the beginning, we all had bags filled with garbage. This time around, we were able to combine our bags down to two. All team members can see and acknowledge the impact that we have made this year.”

A massive kudos to Lakewood for making a real, positive impact on keeping their stretch of highway clean! It’s great to see so many members of their team committed to making this happen. Thank you to the following volunteers from the latest event:

  • Eva Andrews (District Manager)
  • Dan Wesolowski (General Manager)
  • Nick Behrens (Manager)
  • Brad B.
  • Anna M.
  • Jenna H.
  • Jenny H.
  • Olivia K.

Looking ahead, the team already has three more cleanups on that stretch of highway scheduled for 2026. They will also have their annual Community Giving Tree in partnership with the Salvation Army to wrap up 2025.

Keep up the great work, team!
